Common web portal for Estonian geology collections
The largest geological collections in Estonia are housed by the Institute of Geology at Tallinn University of Technology, University of Tartu, Museum of Geology and Estonian Museum of Natural History. Since 2005-2007, a common database system, SARV, is used for cataloguing collection data. Data of all three institutions are available on corresponding websites. As the databases are physically different, hitherto common queries have not been possible. However, since July 2008, an experimental website was built to allow easy access to all databases from a single query interface, the latter can be found at sarv.gi.ee/sarv. Please note that not all functions have been yet implemented and if you need to build complex searches or need the latest data, you should use three individual websites.
