Peatland is located 18 km southwest of the city of Kärdla, 2 km southeast of the village of Puski. It is in depression between the dunes and  formed by paludification. The water recipients are the main ditches  of the peatland, which join outside the deposit and flow into the Baltic Sea as a stream. The area of ​​the peatland is 1134 ha, of which 611.73 ha is peat deposit; registry card no. 641.  There are  economic probable peat reserves  0.006 million tons of slightly decomposed peat and potentially economic reserves of 0.172 million tons, and economic probable reserves  of well-decomposed peat are 0.331 million tons  and potentially economic are 0.924 million tons. The average thickness of the peat deposit is 1.65 m. The average degree of decomposition of fen  peat is 34%, ash content is 9.3%. The average degree of decomposition of the oligotrophic peat is 20%, ash content is 3.5%. It does not belongs in the Ministry of the Environment list of peatlands suitable for pear extraction (Regulation no. 87. 27. 12.2016).
